are Shiva and Shakti - the divine pair of opposites
that create the unity of yoga. In this retreat, we
will focus on how to apply the principles of Shiva &
Shakti in our Anusara practice in order to truly open
our hearts and understand the hearts of ALL. Lee Shuff will lead us into Quiet Yoga so
that our bodies and minds can more easily integrate
the bliss that comes with practice.
Perfect for beginners and more advanced practitioners
of yoga, this retreat will allow you to further refine
your understanding of Anusara's Universal Principles
of Alignment in a safe and love-filled environment
such as Ananda Ashram.
About Anusara Yoga:
Founded by John Friend, Anusara yoga is a unique approach to hatha yoga. It has gained great popularity due to its uplifting philosophy and its celebration of the heart. It is a practice that looks for the good in all people and all things. Combined with precise therapeutic biomechanic principles of alignment, Anusara has captured the hearts of many yoga practitioners. To find out more about John Friend and Anusara yoga go to http://www.anusarayoga.com/.
About Lee Shuff's Quiet Yoga:
Quiet Yoga guided meditation is a practice which
concentrates on merging your body with the Universal prana -- where your body "disappears" and only your most intense version of Self can be "released". In that state, healing prana is flowing everywhere, through you, through your meridians/nadis, all your chakras and your spine and you can become one withsomething greater than yourself. This is a subtle but powerful practice, promoting self healing and leaving the practitioner with a feeling of deep inner peace.

About Rikard Skogberg: www.rikardyoga.com
I have been teaching yoga for the last 4years and practicing yoga for 6 years. I was born in Sweden and am both Swedish and Portuguese. I studied dance and musical theater before beginning my career in yoga. I bring to my practice a curious soul in search of the secrets of life. I believe in the integration and acceptance of the whole being, and that we should appreciate our unique individuality and celebrate life and the gifts that we have to offer. I started my practice of Ashtanga yoga and fell in love with the dynamic and purifying aspects of the practice. I continued to look for a practice that would gently take me into a deeper level of self-knowledge. I did my first teacher training at Integral Yoga. After six months of teaching I found Anusara yoga. I realized that I found exactly what I had been looking for in this practice. Alongside my yoga practice I have been studying different modalities of creative art therapies including drama, art and dance therapies in addition to psychology. Through anusara yoga I have focused on therapeutics as well as a more dynamic and flowing practice. As well as working with yoga, I am a certified Reiki Level 2. I also work privately with yoga sessions.
