Om Fiesta - December 16, Saturday

Om Fiesta
Chanting Om,  Changing Our World   $15  (children under 12 FREE)
Saturday, Dec. 16    7:30 p.m.

Om is the sound embodiment of transcendence, harmony, and universal consciousness. Come celebrate a new CD recording of om that captures the natural sound of a small ensemble of Yogis chanting om together. Banyan Education, dedicated to teaching meditation and promoting uplifting causes, and Inner Splendor Media have partnered with Integral Yoga and Yogafly for a unique and powerful holiday charity event. We will come together to chant om and direct the power of our combined voices toward high aspirations for ourselves and our world. We'll write our blessings and wishes on pieces of paper that will be placed on a puja, and then we'll chant om to carry our intentions to the universe. We'll improvise, harmonize, and combine our intentions and voices to generate loving vibrations. Meditation teacher Harshada Wagner will lead us in meditation before we enjoy tea and snacks.

The om CD will be available for purchase at a discounted price.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Integral Yoga Institute and the Prasad Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services to children, families, and communities in need in Mexico, India, and the United States.

on Mind-Reading by Guruji

From page. 247 - The Textbook of Yoga Psychology by Shri Brahmananda Saraswati, founder Ananda Ashram

19.  Pratyayasya para chitta jnanam

That principle by which objects are known is called pratyaya.  By samyama on the process of psychic mechanism, modus operandi of mindstuff, there arises knowledge about others' minds.

The process of the psychic mechanism consists of the laws of the mind, how the mind operates.  These mental laws are not corporeal.  They are incorporeal, but they move the entire body, which is corporeal, in a particular way.  Every inner feeling will move the body in its own way and this mood of the body will be according to psychic energy which is manifested through psychic mechanism.

Throughout life the body is never without this process of psychic mechanism, whether one is sleeping, dreaming, waking, or meditating.  Motion of the body, according to the motion of psychic energy, is called technically mudra.

This knowledge is of two kinds:

1) Indirect = By inductive and deductive inference, mental laws and process of operation of the psychic mechanism are determined.

2) Direct = By samyama (combination of dharna, dhyana and samadhi) comes direct, intuitive knowledge of other minds, including past, present, and future.

One Swaying Being

One Swaying Being
Rumi

Love is not condescension, never
that, nor books, nor any marking

on paper, nor what people say of
each other. Love is a tree with

branches reaching into eternity
and roots set deep in eternity,

and no trunk! Have you seen it?
The mind cannot. Your desiring

cannot. The longing you feel for
this loves comes from inside you.

When you become the Friend, your
longing will be as the man in

the ocean who holds to a piece of
wood. Eventually, wood, man, and

oceans become one swaying being,
shams Tabriz , the secret of God.
